Festive programmes on 15 March

On the occasion of the 176th anniversary of the outbreak of the Hungarian Revolution and War of Independence of 1848/49, festive programs and commemorations will be held throughout Debrecen in connection with the national holiday on March 15.
Festive Programs on March 15:
- 9:00 – Kossuth Square
Raising of the National Flag with military honors
- 10:00 – Petőfi Square
Commemorative ceremony and wreath-laying
- 10:30 – Petőfi Square – Piac Street – Kossuth Square
Ceremonial march – a reenactment of the 1849 events in Debrecen
- 11:00 – Kossuth Square
Festive program and wreath-laying
- 16:00 – Kossuth Square
"Rise, Hungarian, the homeland calls!" – Gala performance

Throughout the day, children can enjoy folk games and craft activities in the courtyard of the Old Town Hall.
The Great Reformed Church of Debrecen will welcome visitors with extended opening hours (9:00–16:00) and special programs:
- 11:00 – Family experiential educational session
- 14:00 – Festive guided tour
At the Agora Science Experience Center, from 10:30, an interactive and free educational session titled "Revolutionary Inventions" will be held as part of the Weekend Science series for children.

"The Sentinel City of Hungarian Freedom" – an exhibition at the Debrecen Reformed College in the Oratory Hall.
Museum activities for young people at the Debrecen Reformed College (registration required via the museum's website or by phone):
"Hussar boy, hussar boy, loves to dance..." – for kindergarteners and 1st-2nd grade children
